Abso-fucking-lutely amazed that it's supposed to be 80 out today. In March. It was cold enough to snow a few days ago.

Kinda pissed about the time waste tonight.
Awake, and not happy about having to waste my time tonight.

Monday, March 2, 2009

Almost time for bed, syncing the iPod. 6 days left active duty Army.
kinda glad we didn't get snowed on, but kinda miss it.
Who would thought that the weather people would scare us, then it wouldn't actually snow? Disappointed? Yes.

Sunday, March 1, 2009

just watched Knocked Up with the wife. Still a funny movie. Seth Rogan is still unattractive. Jonah Hill takes the cake though.
Can't wait to eat the tasty smelling dinner the wife is cooking.
Woke up this morning to find it raining. And now they say we might get 2 inches of snow tonight. Woo hoo *sarcasm*!

Saturday, February 28, 2009

It was fun watching #Jarhead again. Great movie. Lotsa Marine Corps memories brought back.
Woke up to discover much more rain coming down than necessary. Expected 4 inches by Monday morning. Fuck this shit.

Iraq

A revelation came to me today. This is proof of the fact that things happen for a reason:

Today, a unit out of Fort Gordon, GA got on buses to eventually get on planes. Those planes are going to Iraq and Afghanistan. I was supposed to be with that unit.

If my back wasn't as fucked up the way it is, I would have left the unit I am currently with. I would have gone to another unit on Fort Gordon, and gotten on a plane today. My wife is 6 weeks pregnant, and if not for my back being fucked up, I would have not met my child until it was 3 or so months old.

The Duggars

I'm pretty sure most people are aware of the Duggar family. They're on TLC and have 18 fucking children! It's all thanks to their religion. This show is so damn ridiculous. These people should not be glamorized on TV. That should have their reproductive organs removed. It's not "cool" to have 18 children. It's irresponsible.

Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta

So today we went to visit the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta. If you have never heard of them, you should check it out. They are less of a religion based church, and more of a values based church. It teaches the values of being a good person for the sake of being a good person, not for the sake of avoiding eternal damnation. Look into your local church. They're a lot of fun. This weekend at the Augusta church was Big Lebowski weekend. They watched the movie, went bowling, then had a sermon about the movie. It was a blast. If you're looking for a change (especially those with kids), check it out. They'll be happy to have you.

Atheists in America

Why do the leaders of America keep denying the existence of the 15 or so percent of Americans who don't believe in a god? Are we not Americans? Do we not serve our country honorably in the military, as police, as firefighters, as EMTs? Or are we just second class citizens who deserve nothing but being ignored?

Atheist Perspective on the Inauguration

Unitarian Universalist Church

I know a lot of people out there have kids, and a lot of my friends are atheists. Check out the Unitarian Universalist Church. It's not about religion, it's about openness, freedom, and having a good time. It's a good place to raise your kids, and make yourself better. Check it out: Unitarian Universalist Church

Tool Academy

Has anyone seen VH1's new reality show? It's called Tool Academy. It might be the most ridiculous show I've ever seen. These guys are the world's biggest tools.

First

This is my first post, but I'm sure no one will actually ready this. I'll start off with some details about myself. I am a 23 year old US Army soldier. I am in Military Occupational Specialty 25B, Information Technology Specialist. I have been married since November 17th, 2007. My wife Samantha and I are expecting our first child in September of 2009. We are what are known as "atheists". We are investigating the Unitarian Universalist Association, a church that isn't really a church. It's more of an organization of like-minded people, looking to help their community and help each other. You should all look into it.

Enough about that. I have a lot to tell, and I'm sure there is a lot to ask. Feel free to ask, and I'll probably answer.
